Analysis of the match between Al-Riyadh and Al-Ettifaq
Before the Saudi Pro League 2025/26 took a break of more than a month, Al Riyadh had yet to create a safe gap from the relegation zone. After 9 rounds, they collected only 8 points and were just 3 points ahead of Damac, the team in 16th place, indicating that the danger of slipping into the danger zone remains very real. However, this position also fairly reflects Al Riyadh’s current ability and overall quality.
On the other hand, Al Ettifaq are enjoying a more comfortable position than the hosts. Although their form has not been particularly impressive, ending a run of four consecutive matches without a win—two draws and two defeats—by beating Al Fayha just before the break significantly boosted their morale. This contrasts sharply with Al Riyadh, who went through four consecutive official matches without tasting victory.
After the break, both Al Riyadh and Al Ettifaq are in urgent need of a win to quickly improve their standings. In terms of recent form, the two sides appear evenly matched, with each winning only one of their last five games.
Al Riyadh have the home advantage and have shown relatively decent form recently, losing just once in their last five matches. Meanwhile, Al Ettifaq have struggled away from home, recording a modest record of one win, two draws, and two losses (within 90 minutes). Even so, the visitors hold a clear edge over Al Riyadh in head-to-head encounters.
With neither side keen to drop points, the match is expected to be tense, tight, and highly competitive. A draw appears to be a suitable outcome for both Al Riyadh and Al Ettifaq.
